Creative Nonfiction Works
This collection of creative nonfiction explores the raw intersections of motherhood, grief, and trauma—where love and loss coexist in uneasy harmony. Through intimate essays and lyrical reflections, these pieces unravel the tender and turbulent threads of what it means to nurture, to break, and to begin again. Each story bears witness to the unspoken: the body’s memory of loss, the quiet ache of absence, and the fierce resilience that rises from ruin. Moving between vulnerability and strength, this collection offers a chorus of voices reclaiming motherhood not as a single narrative, but as a landscape shaped by mourning, survival, and transformation.

A personal essay describing the experience of my husband having a life threatening stroke at the young age of 35. It details how miraculous his survival is, due to the low chance of survival, and how our family clung together and learned gratitude through this life changing event.
Laughter Between Heartbeats: A Memoir of Motherhood, Trauma, and the Unexpected Path to Survival
The true story of how I overcame a multi-generational cycle of abuse through gentle parenting, humor, and forgiveness. I taught myself to be a mother by using all the tactics that had been born into me as a guidepost for what not to do. I share the pain, vulnerability, and humility that I experienced as I found my way to healing. I portray the humor that is alive in our house to show how laughter really is the best medicine. This story reveals how I learned that the gap between knowing better and doing better is a journey in itself. Out of all the accomplishments I have made despite my upbringing, being a nurturing mother is my true triumph.
